The beauty of local suppliers

Working with local and sustainable suppliers, we feel, is key to high quality food it’s something we are very proud to do.    Whether it’s the freshest fish from our local harbours or fresh beef from the nearest butchers, it’s that local element and freshness that makes it special and the same can be said for our local ales.

We are very proud to support and stock South Hams Brewery, which just like us, is a family run business. The brewery is run by Sam Brooking and was originally known as Sutton Brewing.  The firm, which is based overlooking the fabulous Start Bay, now supplies high quality ales to over 60 outlets in and around Plymouth and throughout Devon.

Landlord of The Globe Inn, John Horsley, said: “We are delighted to work with the team at South Hams Brewery and their ales are always fantastic.  Even customers who are not normally ale drinkers want to give it a try and we know they won’t be disappointed.”

The Globe Inn is committed to ensuring that only the best local produce is used in their cooking as well as in their drinks offering.

John continued: “Using local producers reassures us that the food and drink is all fresh and of a particularly high standard.  Their love for real ale is evident in all of their drinks and they consistently deliver high quality ales that our customers enjoy; they are someone we are very proud to stock.”

South Hams Brewery have some long-standing classics, such as Eddystone and Devon Pride, but they also produce several seasonal ales for the changing climate and palates.
